This website and newsletter are operated by Firesmyth Press LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), publishing under the name Newton SciFi. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. When you join our reader list: your email address, and your first name if you choose to provide it (it’s optional).

When you visit our website: standard analytics information such as the pages you view, your general location, and device or browser type, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and analytics” below).

We do not knowingly collect any other personal information, and we don’t ask for it.

We use your email address and name to send you the free story you requested, occasional updates about new books and releases, and the kind of behind-the-scenes notes described when you signed up. We use website analytics to understand which content readers find useful and to improve the site. That’s the full extent of it — no profiling, no resale, no surprises.

We rely on your consent to send you newsletter emails. You give that consent when you sign up, and you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing — no explanation needed.

We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

From time to time we may recommend another author’s book that we think you’ll enjoy — but we do this only by including a link or mention within our own emails to you. Your email address and personal details always stay with us and are never given, sold, or transferred to those authors or any other party. A recommendation is a suggestion, not a handoff of your data.

To run the newsletter and deliver your books, we rely on a small number of trusted services that process data on our behalf, under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only for our purposes:

• EmailOctopus stores our mailing list and sends our emails.
• BookFunnel delivers the ebooks and stories you download.
• IONOS hosts this website.
• Google provides website analytics.

These providers act as our processors. They are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing or to share it further.

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit), to measure traffic and understand how visitors use the site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may behave differently.

We keep your subscriber information for as long as you remain on our list. If you unsubscribe, we remove or anonymize your information promptly, except where we’re required to retain a record of your prior consent.

You may at any time:

• Unsubscribe from our emails using the link at the bottom of every message.
• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct it if it’s inaccurate.
• Request deletion of it.

To exercise any of these, email privacy.policy@newtonscifi.com and we’ll respond promptly. Readers in the EU/UK and certain US states have these rights under applicable law; we extend them to everyone.

This site and newsletter are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the effective date above, and significant changes will be noted on this page.
